Jeanie and Pegasus on Passo Giau
Passo Giau is my favorite pass in the Dolomites.

I explore volcanoes, cols, and rift valleys, beaches, canyons, and alluvial fans on foot and by bicycle. Rocks fresh from live volcanoes are my favorite, though hydrothermally altered rocks with mineralization are a close second.

I like daffodils, lilacs, lavender, roses, irises, and anything in the family Schrophulariaceae (snapdragon family).

Music accompanies my journeys and expresses itself on the guitar, piano, mandolin, and department store Casio keyboard.

I have no television, but do plan vacations around watching the Tour de France on Eurosport.

I am owned by two bicycles: Pegasus, the Rivendell Road bike, and Vesuvius, the Schwinn Cimarron mountain bike. The rider is not always strong, but the bikes are above average.

I live in Martinez, California, which is on the Carquinez Strait between Port Costa and Pacheco and is a good base camp for exploring the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond.
